AJ's Search and Rescue is a 501c3 non-profit animal rescue based in Akron, Ohio founded in 2016. We rescue animals and search to find them a forever home. We are a foster based organization that takes homeless dogs and cats into our homes and provide them with proper medical care, food, shelter and love until they find their forever home and get adopted.
Our Mission
To Save Lives, One Paw at a Time! We provide temporary shelter to stray, abandoned, and surrendered animals for the purpose of finding them their forever homes.
We strive in getting the homeless animal population to decrease by spaying and neutering all of our animals before they continue their journey into their new home.
Dog of the month
Meet Jocky a 4 year male that is around 30 lbs. Jocky was an owner surrender to their local pound in southern OH. He wasnt getting along with the other unaltered male in the house * Jocky was also unaltered at the time. He is doing well with his foster dog siblings - male and female. is crate trained, and seems to be housebroken. He did test positive for Lyme disease when being tested for heartworm and tick borne disease. He does not have any symptoms and has completed 30 day course of Doxy.
Cat of the month
Meet FLYNN He is a male 2.5 years old. Flynn can be shy, but is learning how to be a spoiled house pet very well. Sweet quiet boy. He loves his treats and toys. He is fantastic with another cats. Loves to play and watch the birds and critters outside from a window seat. Litter box trained DOB 5/21/2023
